AvaTrade is an online currency trading (Forex) and contract for difference (CFD) broker headquartered in Dublin , Ireland. Through its online trading platform and mobile apps , the company offers trading in a wide variety of markets including Forex , Commodities , Indices , Stocks , ETFs , Bitcoin, and Treasuries .

history

AvaTrade was founded in 2006 as Ava FX by Emanuel Kronitz, Negev Nosatzki and Clal Finance. Kronitz and Nosatzki led the AvaGroup, a group of finance professionals who wanted to create a customer service-centric forex broker. In 2013, Ava FX changed its name to AvaTrade to reflect the company's expansion beyond its forex brokerage services, which now extended to a variety of financial services including stocks, indices (including the Dow Jones and Standard & Poor’s ), commodities and government bonds . In 2013 AvaTrade had over 200,000 registered customer accounts in over 160 countries and executed over 2 million trades per month.

AvaTrade is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland with a holding company in the British Virgin Islands and offices and sales centers in Tokyo , Japan; Milan , Italy; Paris , France; Sydney , Australia; Shanghai , China and Ulaanbaatar , Mongolia.

AvaTrade is regulated in the EU by the Central Bank of Ireland , in Australia by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, in the British Virgin Islands by the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission and in Japan by the Financial Services Agency, the Financial Futures Association of Japan and the Commodities Futures Association of Japan. The company offers its service traders from all over the world, except the USA. Its strongest markets are the EU, the Middle East and Asia.

Trading products and platforms

AvaTrade offers spot trading primarily through MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and its proprietary AvaTrader (ACT) software. Both trading platforms are browser-based and offered as a mobile app. The company also offers automated trading platforms through Mirror Trader, ZuluTrade, and others. At AvaTrade you have the opportunity to trade on MetaTrader 4, but you can also use Ava's tailor-made platform, which is also very reliable and easy to use. In April 2013 AvaTrade launched the AvaOptions trading platform, which enables clients to buy and sell FX Vanilla Options and execute more complex investment and hedging strategies. In August 2013, AvaTrade became the second forex broker to offer online bitcoin trading and introduced bitcoin trading with CFDs on both its AvaTrader and MT4 platforms. In February 2014, the company launched HushTrade, an educational website that offers its clients strategic advice, practice materials and other content from professional traders.

Acquisitions

In July 2010, AvaTrade acquired the Japanese forex broker Art Co. In March 2011, the company acquired the non-US customer base of the broker eForex. In June 2011 they acquired customers and customer assets outside the EU from Finotec Trading UK Limited. In July 2014 AvaTrade confirmed the acquisition of the Australian customer base of the broker YouTradeFX, based in Sydney, thereby bringing YouTradeFX customers to the AvaTrade platform.
