Avalanche Ridge (English for avalanche ridge ) is a straight and rocky ridge 1.6 km in length in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Jones Mountains, it extends northwards from Pillsbury Tower and separates the Basecamp Valley from the Austin Valley .
It was mapped during an expedition to the Jones Mountains undertaken by the University of Minnesota from 1960 to 1961. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the frequent snow avalanches on the flanks of the ridge.
