Avard Moncur

Avard Moncur (born November 2, 1978 in Nassau ) is a Bahamian athlete .

At the 2000 Olympic Games , Avard Moncur only reached the semifinals in the 400-meter run . The following year he set his personal best with 44.45 seconds in Madrid. At the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, he won the title in 44.64 seconds. With the 4 x 400 meter relay , he won silver behind the relay from the USA.

In 2002 he was third in the 400 meters at the Commonwealth Games . At the World Championships in 2003 he only reached the semifinals. With the relay he finished 4th in the finals. The relay, however, subsequently received the bronze medal, since the victorious US relay was subsequently disqualified because of the doping affair with Calvin Harrison .

At the 2005 World Championships , the Bahamas relay won silver again, as in 2001 behind the USA.

Avard Moncur is 1.96 m tall and has a competition weight of 82 kg.
