The Awl Point (literally translated from English Ahlen tip , spanish Punta Punzón ) is a flat promontory with a sharp bend of the Supervisory end on the east side of Trinity Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the western coast of the Antarctic Graham Lands . It is located 6.5 km northeast of Borge Point .
The cape can be found for the first time on an Argentine map from 1952 under the name Cabo Wallaston [sic!] After William Hyde Wollaston (1766–1828), an alderman of the Royal Society on the Board of Longitude from 1818 to 1828. This designation was discarded, to avoid confusion with the nearby Cape Wollaston . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee made the descriptive naming that is valid today in 1960.
