The Cape Wollaston is a chapter that the northwestern foothills of Trinity Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula forms.
The cape was discovered and mapped during the expedition with the sloop Chanticleer under Commander Henry Foster , which lasted from 1828 to 1831 . It is named after William Hyde Wollaston (1766-1828), an alderman of the Royal Society on the Board of Longitude from 1818 to 1828, who provided Foster with astronomical measuring instruments for the research trip.
