The Bohemia Rhapsody is 45 m long, 7.5 m wide and, with a draft of 0.9 m, displaces approx. 123 t. The ship, which is provided with an all-glass sliding roof, offers space for 220 passengers. The main drive is 226 HP and for better maneuvering and as an emergency drive, a Schottel pump jet with 110 HP was provided in the fore section. The Pumpjet works as a 360 ° bow thruster and can be operated independently of a lithium-ion battery for 30 minutes at full power, so it is available as an emergency drive. The Bohemia Rhapsody sails in Prague on the Vltava for the Prague Boats shipping company .
Hybrid system with diesel and accumulators
The specialty of this ship is the hybrid drive with two completely independent energy stores or motors consisting of a diesel main drive with shaft and propeller and a battery-electric auxiliary drive as a thruster for maneuvering aid and as an emergency drive . For this solution, the Bolle Werft had the project partner Zebotec GmbH on their side in addition to the Prague Boats shipping company, in order to link the new system configuration of lithium-ion storage (50 kWh), diesel generator and bow thruster (80 kW) in a fail-safe manner.
