Owner-Chai Shaki
Owner-Chai Shaki ( Hebrew אַבְנֵר-חַי שאקי* February 5, 1926 in Safed , League of Nations mandate for Palestine ; † May 28, 2005 ) was an Israeli minister and politician .
Life
Schaki studied law and earned a Ph.D. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem . He then worked as a lecturer in universities in Canada and the USA . On July 16, 1970, he was - after replacement to replace Haim-Moshe Shapira - Knesset member of the national-religious party . On September 1, 1970, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Education . He left the cabinet on July 17, 1972, on May 22, 1973 he left the national religious party and switched to the independent MPs, and remained a member of the Knesset until the 1973 elections. He then returned to the national religious party and was re-elected to the Knesset in 1984 . Shaki was re-elected in 1988 and appointed Minister for Jerusalem Affairs (also Jerusalem Affairs Minister of Israel ) in December of that year . In 1990 he was appointed minister of religion and held this office until the 1992 elections. He was re-elected in 1992 and for the last time in 1996, but then no longer held any office.
