Axali Doëseb

Axali Doëseb (* 1954 in Okahandja , South West Africa ) is a contemporary Namibian musician , conductor and composer .

His works include the melody and text of the Namibian national anthem " Namibia, Land of the Brave " and the liturgy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia . Doëseb also helped develop the African Union anthem , Let Us All Unite and Celebrate Together . In 2014 he received the Namibian Annual Music Award (NAMA) for his life's work.

Doëseb has a diploma from the Herford Music School , ( Germany ) and a Bachelor in Musicology from the University of Marlborough ( United Kingdom ) since 1997 .

Axali Doëseb was the first black conductor of the Namibian Symphony Orchestra . Since 2019 he has been a member of the jury for the Namibian music award NAMA.
