Namibian Annual Music Awards
The Namibian Annual Music Awards (mostly just Namibian Music Awards ; NAMA for short ) are the most important music awards in Namibia . They have been awarded annually in Windhoek since 2011 . The award Namibian musicians who have performed in the previous year special for the Namibian music.
NAMA is the successor to the “Sanlam NBC Namibia Music Awards”, which were given from 2005 to 2009.
The main sponsors of the music award are MTC Namibia , NBC , Hyundai Namibia , Namibia Dairies , Castle and the John & Penny Group . Further sponsors are Motor Vehicle Accident Fund , Alexander Forbes , Bank Windhoek , Methealth Namibia and Old Mutual Namibia .
Award
The award of the NAMA is divided into four stages. From the end of January to the end of February of the award year, artists can independently enroll in the various categories free of charge. At the end of February, an independent jury with specialist knowledge in the respective category assesses these applications and approves or rejects them. These nominees will be evaluated by the jury from the end of March to mid-May. during the same period, the public can vote via SMS and online.
60% of the final rating is based on the jury's ratings, 40% on the results of the public's votes.
