Axehammer ( spelling AxeHammer ) is a band from Los Angeles , founded in 1981 , which, however, is not very well known in Europe.

history

The band was formed jointly by Joe Aghassi and Jerry Watt in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. They got their distinctive sound from their original lead singer Bill Ramp, who soon had to leave the band for health reasons. Axehammer has played with genre greats such as Slayer , Malice and Agent Steel . The band is currently under contract with Sentinel Steel Records .

The band members draw their stylistic influences mainly from the field of classic heavy metal, including Black Sabbath , Iron Maiden , Deep Purple , Judas Priest , Dio and Accept among their musical models.

Among other things, they performed at the Keep It True VI 2006.
