The bear crack saddle is 1069 m above sea level. A. high mountain pass in the Ybbstal Alps in Lower Austria .
The paved road leading from Wildalpen via Klaus and Osch ends in Rothwald , from where only a gravel forest path leads over the Taleralm ( Rothwald-Langau ) up to the saddle. The east ramp is also only developed as a forest road up to Zellerrain Straße and is therefore also not accessible to the public.
Middle of the 19th century. the Rothwaldbahn ran over the Bärenrisssattel from the Weißen Ois into the Rothwald before it was dismantled again due to insufficient profitability.
