Béatrice Romand

Béatrice Romand (born April 16, 1952 in Birkadem near Algiers ) is a French actress .

Romand became popular with German audiences mainly through her roles in Éric Rohmers' films such as Claire's knee (the first collaboration), Herbstgeschichte or Das Grüne Leuchten , but also through the role of Charlotte ("Charlie") in the early evening series Graf Yoster gives herself the honor known.

At the age of 8 she left her home with her parents during the Algerian War. She studied classical dance, photography and art in Paris before she stood in front of the camera for the first time for the six-part television production Mauregard at the age of 16 . To date (2005) she has worked as an actress in over 30 cinema and television films.

Two of her collaborations with Éric Rohmer were awarded. The Motion Picture Arts Club of New York honored her acting performance in Claire's knee in 1970 with the award for Most Promising Actress , and for the leading role of Sabine in The Beautiful Wedding she received the award Best at the Venice Film Festival in 1982 Actress .

As a director and producer, she was involved in other short and documentary films, some of which were awarded prizes.

Today Béatrice Romand lives with her family in the Limousin .
