action
Delphine is a young secretary based in Paris . It's summer and vacation time is approaching. Delphine is planning a vacation with her friend Sylvie in Greece . But shortly before the start of the vacation, her friend cancels her. Now she doesn't know what to do. She doesn't want to go to Greece alone. She is invited by friends to Normandy and the French Alps. But neither the mountains nor the sea appeal to her. Finally she goes to Biarritz alone , but feels even more lonely surrounded by happy summer visitors than in her home in Paris. Again she leaves. Shortly before leaving, however, she met a young man at the Biarritz train station, who invited her to Saint-Jean-de-Luz . At first still inhibited, she finally agrees. There she awaits the sign that she sees as an indication of the fulfillment of her longing: the green glow .
Reviews
The lexicon of international film saw "the portrait of an inwardly lonely, sensitive person whose difficulties with the 'adaptation' are observed by a cool, almost documentary camera". In his film, Rohmer relies "more on the persuasiveness of improvisation than on a strict cinematic concept and enchants with its brittle charm and the weightlessness of the staging".
Awards
The film took part in the 1986 Venice Film Festival competition and won the Golden Lion and the FIPRESCI Prize .
