The Böller is a 321.9 m high, completely wooded elevation and is located in the Böller forest of the same name , in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

The firecrackers belong to the corridor of the village of Lauchröden . The closest settlement is the hamlet of Lutzberg, about 1.2 kilometers to the southwest .
In the GDR era, the forest area was inaccessible; a firing range of the GDR border troops was located here. After the fall of the Wall, the historical course of the Sallmannshausen Rennsteig was reconstructed as a regional hiking trail (label S ). With the help of the Thuringian Forestry Office Gerstungen-Marksuhl, several shelters and rest areas were created.
