Location of Bühren in Lower Saxony

Bühren is a village in the municipality of Emstek in the district of Cloppenburg in Lower Saxony ( Germany ). The place has about 1,370 inhabitants (as of October 2019) .

geography

The farmers are located in the middle of the Oldenburger Münsterland on the A 1 , the B 72 and the B 69 . A small stream called Bührener Bäke flows through Bühren .

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 947 AD. In 1977 the farmers were national winners in the competition " Our village should be more beautiful - our village has a future ". Today the villages of Repke, Penkhusen, Westerbühren, Palmpohl, Sülzbühren, Husum, Schneiderkrug and Poggenschlatt belong to the village of Bühren.

Local associations include the Ballspielverein Bühren (BV Bühren), the Musikverein Bühren, the men's choir Bühren, the Bühren youth choir, the Bühren children's choir, the Bühren women's choir, the Bühren Kolping family, the Bühren country youth club (KLJB Bühren), the local community and the St Johannes Schützenbruderschaft Schneiderkrug.
