The Bürgstein-Schwoikaer Schweiz is one of the most important climbing areas in the Lusatian Mountains. A total of 95 climbing peaks and massifs serve as climbing destinations. Except for the white woman - a basalt needle - all rocks are made of very soft sandstone . The first climbing activities began in 1911 when Rudolf Kauschka first climbed the pine tower . The most important peak in the area is the Großvaterstein ( Českolipska vez ), which was first climbed around 1925.

For the most important free-standing rock in the area, the forty-meter-high Einsiedlerstein , climbing is prohibited for reasons of monument protection.
