The Büschelige Schein aster or Büschelige Schein-Aster ( Vernonia fasciculata ) is a species of the genus of the Scheinastern ( Vernonia ).

features

The tufted Scheinaster is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 30 to 120 centimeters. The leaves are glabrous on the underside and have dimples. The outer pappus rays are unevenly bristle-shaped and not scale-shaped. The heads consist of 12 to 25 flowers. The cover measures 5 to 8 × 4 to 6 millimeters. The bracts are pointed or rounded.

The chromosome number is 2n = 34 for Vernonia fasciculata subsp. corymbosa .

Occurrence

The tufted Scheinaster occurs in the north of the central United States.

use

The tufted asterisk is very rarely used as an ornamental plant for natural gardens.
