BADR-6 (formerly Arabsat-4C ) is a telecommunications satellite owned by the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT).
history
It serves as a replacement for the Arabsat 4A satellite that was lost in a false start and was therefore initially referred to as Arabsat-4C. The satellite, built on the basis of the ' Eurostar E2000 + ' satellite bus, is the third satellite manufactured by Astrium for the operator ARABSAT, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia . The corresponding contract was signed in June 2006 and the satellite was delivered to Kourou in March 2008 after assembly in Toulouse . The satellite was launched with an Ariane 5 ECA on July 7, 2008 at 21:47 UTC from the Center Spatial Guyanais together with the communications satellite ProtoStar 1 . It was launched at the position 26 ° East.
Setup and reception
