BC Duinwijck

BC Duinwijck is a Dutch badminton club from Haarlem . The club plays in the Eredivisie , the highest league in the Netherlands .

history

The club was founded on October 1st, 1948 as a winter alternative to the Tennisvereniging Bloemendaal . Well-known players at the time were Leen Verhoef , Jan Bolleman , Arie in't Hout and Rudi Houwen . On November 11, 1952 , the BC Duinwijck played the first badminton competition of the Nederlandse Badminton Bond against the BC Smash Den Haag . The team consisted of The Djien Gie , Ine van Gessel , Els Robbé , Piet Titiheru and Leen Verhoef. In 2011, the club achieved its greatest success by winning the European Cup.
