history
Soccer
SV Stern Britz was founded in 1889 under the name Berliner FC Marbert , but was renamed Berliner FC Stern 1889 in the year it was founded. In 1891 they were a founding member of the German Football and Cricket Association and played from 1891/92 to 1896 / 97 in first class. In January 1900 the club was one of the founding clubs of the DFB . The games at that time were played on the Tempelhofer Feld .
After 1900 the club acted in the championship of the Association of Berliner Ballspielvereine , but was only able to stay in the top class for one season in 1901/02 and 1907/08 and was immediately relegated. In the period that followed, up until 1945 they played no role in higher-class football, and no participation in the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg took place.
In 1945 the club was dissolved. An immediate re-establishment and participation in the Stadtliga Berlin was not carried out, it was not until 1950 that it reappeared under the name Neuköllner FC Stern . In contrast to local rivals NSC Südstern-Azur and Neuköllner Sportfreunde, the NFC star no longer played in the higher-class football of West Berlin .
In 1973 the NFC star merged with SpVgg. Britz-Süd 49 to SV Stern Britz. The current division is the Berlin district league.
Cheerleading
The Bright Stars Berlin used to be the cheerleaders of the American Football Team Berlin Thunderbirds and are now the cheerleading department of SV Stern Britz. Among other things, you are multiple German and European champions and thus the most successful department within the association.
