The BHS tabletop AG , headquartered in Selb in Bavaria is a listed manufacturer of porcelain for the hotel - and restaurant industry and for public catering. The company produces exclusively in Germany with locations in Selb, Schönwald (Upper Franconia) and Weiden in the Upper Palatinate .

BHS tabletop emerged from Hutschenreuther AG in 1998. The mark "Hutschenreuther" was during this restructuring to Winterling porcelain AG sold what they have to in August 2000 Rosenthal passed it. The name of the company is made up of the first letters of the company components Bauscher , Hutschenreuther and Schönwald . The English addition tabletop names the place where the products are used: the tabletop. The products manufactured under the former “Hutschenreuther Hotel” brand have been under the “Tafelstern” brand since 2007.

The main shareholders of BHS tabletop were Deutsche Bank , Münchener Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft and ProHeq, a subsidiary of the WMF Group. The remaining 17.3 percent of the shares are in free float. In March 2017, the Serafin group of companies , a financial holding of the Haindl family, took over the block of shares from the previous shareholders and is thus the new majority shareholder of BHS tabletop AG.

Tafelstern Professional Porcelain

Tafelstern is an independent brand of BHS Tabletop. On the basis of 150 years of experience, porcelain is manufactured for professional use in international gastronomy, hotel and communal catering. Production takes place exclusively in Germany at the Schönwald (Upper Franconia) and Weiden (Upper Palatinate) locations. Product development is geared towards the special needs (durability, functionality, modularity) of professional users. The porcelain has also been available to private customers since 2009.

In addition to white and cream-colored hard-paste porcelain, there are decor variants for many collections. Series with individual decorations or vignettes are also produced for bulk buyers. The collections have received multiple awards such as the red dot design award , the iF Design Award and the FER Tabletop & Servingware Award.

Clientele

Customers include hotels, restaurants, canteens, hospitals, and airline and shipping lines around the world. The company sells over 40 million dishes a year and has a world market share of 10 percent. As a result of its global presence, BHS tabletop achieved an export share of around 45 percent.

Subsidiaries

The Tools and Technologies GmbH began in 1996 on the central tool shop of Hutschenreuther AG. The company specializes in the design and construction of tools and molds. Bauscher USA, Inc. , based in Raleigh NC, is a sales company of BHS tabletop, which is active on the American market. The range includes the Bauscher , Tafelstern and Amefa brands (cutlery).
