Brdigung ( spelling : BRDIGUNG ) is a German metal - rock band from Kempen .
Brdigung's music is characterized by a mixture of punk rock , metal and rock with occasional deviations into the hardcore genre . Lyrically, the band deals with socially critical and serious topics, which are often brought to the listener with humor and a lot of irony.
history
The band was founded in 2003 by Julian Cistecky and Tobias Behnen. After a short time, drummer Sven Hinsken joined the band in spring 2004. After several amateur demos, the first professionally recorded studio album, Kein Kompromiss , was released in 2008 by the Rheinberger label Antirockstar Industries . At the same time there were also some changes in the band. Jonas Straeten became the second guitarist and Julian Cistecky, previously only on guitar, now also took over the vocals. In 2010, the second album, Tot but Alive, followed, which was also released by Antirockstar Industries .
With a new label and a new team in tow, the third studio album by Brdigung was released at the end of March 2012 with Zwischen Engeln & Teufeln. The band then played on the Serum 114 tour as main support.
On February 21, 2014, the fourth studio album In golden chains was released and entered the German album charts at number 25. Shortly thereafter, the band toured as the main support of Hämatom . At the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015, there were two mini-tours for this album "Spreng die golden Ketten Tour", which were the band's first tours as headliners. The Munich band Spitfire provided support on both tours . At the same time, these tours also marked the start of the new bassist Alexander Steves, who succeeded bassist and founding member Tobias Behnen in the summer of 2014.
In April 2016, the fifth album Chaostheorie was released and reached number 15 in the German album charts. On November 25, 2016, the EP was released, The festival falls out .
On February 2, 2018, the sixth album Zeitünder was released and was ranked 8th in the top 10 of the official German album charts. For the first time in the band's history, Zeitünder also achieved chart success outside of Germany and entered the official Top 100 of the Austrian album charts at number 66. On the following tour, the band's first live album " Liveünder " was recorded, which was released on December 7th, 2018. In addition to 2 CDs, the album also includes a DVD on which a tour documentary can be seen, in which the band members often became cameramen themselves.
On January 31, 2020, Brdigung released their 7th studio album called " Zeig dich! ", Which entered the German album charts at number 3 and is the band's biggest chart success to date.
