history

The BSG Empor Sosa was founded in 1945 as the Sosa sports group . It consisted largely of former players from FC Sportriege Sosa and Sportfreunde Sosa . For the first time in 1948, the club achieved the status of a company sports association and was now called BSG Torpedo Sosa . In 1951 the name was changed to BSG Fortuna Sosa . The SDAG Wismut initially acted as the sponsoring company . After the withdrawal of the bismuth in the Johanngeorgenstadt mining area , the community appeared under the name ISG Sosa , later only as SG Sosa .

The soccer team of the Erzgebirge always played under-class until the mid-1970s. It was not until 1975 that SG Sosa achieved its first promotion to the third-class district league Karl-Marx-Stadt . There the SG Sosa was able to establish itself right away in the secured midfield. The sports community, which at the time did not have a sponsoring company, kept up surprisingly well with the promotion candidates Motor “Fritz Heckert” Karl-Marx-Stadt , Ascota Karl-Marx-Stadt , Aufbau Krumhermersdorf and Motor Zschopau . In 1979 he achieved the greatest success in the club's history, as SG Sosa the soccer team rose to the second-rate GDR league .

In the 1979/80 season , the team from Sosa was sorted into season D and could only win three games in the season. At the end of the season they had to relegate from the GDR league together with SG Dynamo Lübben and BSG activist Brieske-Senftenberg . In the period that followed, the direct ascent of the Ore Mountains on the Ascota and Vorwärts Plauen only just failed . As a GDR league team, Sosa qualified for the 1980/81 FDGB Cup . In the first main round, the team met BSG Progress Weida and were eliminated from the FDGB Cup due to the 0-1 defeat.

In 1981 the club from Sosa regained the status of a company sports community because the consumer association became the new sponsoring company of SG Sosa, which then renamed itself, like all company sports associations of the central sports association for trade and food, to BSG Empor . As the district cup winner, the BSG qualified for the FDGB Cup 1984/85 and in the elimination round they met again on the BSG Progress Weida . With the 2-4 defeat, they were eliminated from the cup competition. 1987 Sosa rose as the penultimate together with Chemie Glauchau from the district league. Subsequently, the BSG sank into the lowlands of Saxon local football.
