history

The club was founded as SV Tubantia Rheine on August 22nd, 1910 , when the football department of TV Kümpersdorf became independent. In 1925 the name was changed to BV Rheine. After the Second World War , BV first played in the Emsland district class . There the team was runner-up in 1950 behind local rivals Borussia Rheine and was promoted to the newly created 2nd Landesliga Westfalen . Two years later, after the dissolution of the 2nd regional league, the team moved to the Landesliga Westfalen , which was the highest amateur league in the state at the time.

After a fifth place in the 1952/53 season, he was relegated to the district class in 1955. The BV succeeded in direct recovery. As in 1950, the team was runner-up behind Borussia and benefited from increased promotion as a result of the introduction of the Westphalia Association . As early as 1959, the BV was relegated to the district class again and should not come back.

On July 12, 1969, BV merged with SpVgg Rheine to form FC Rheine . This rose to the national league in the same year and merged on June 27, 1971 with Borussia's successor Rot-Weiß Rheine to form VfB Rheine , which in turn merged with FC Eintracht Rheine on July 10, 1994 .
