The SNCF series B 82500 is a four - part two - motor multiple unit from the manufacturer Bombardier , which can run on unelectrified lines as a diesel multiple unit as well as on electrified lines with pantographs. It can handle two different contact line voltages (1.5 kV DC voltage and 25 kV, 50 Hz AC voltage ) and is therefore also a multi-system vehicle .

The vehicle belongs to the Autorail à grande capacité family , a French vehicle family that has several regional railcar models intended for operation with diesel or one or more power systems, but has great similarities in construction and is therefore cheaper to buy. The vehicles of the B 82500 series are currently in use at the SNCF subsidiary TER .
