Baboucarr-Blaise Jagne

Baboucarr-Blaise Ismaila Jagne (born February 11, 1955 in Bathurst, now Banjul ) is a Gambian politician and diplomat . He was Foreign Minister of Gambia.

Life

Jagne was a member of Yahya Jammeh's cabinet as Foreign Minister for the first time from March 20, 1995 to March 8, 1997. In a second term, he held this position from August 30, 2001 to October 14, 2004. In the meantime he acted from July 1997 to April 1998 as his country's ambassador to Saudi Arabia ; then between May 1998 and August 2001 he was the permanent representative of the Gambia to the United Nations in New York . In June 1999 he was President of the World Security Council .
