Back-Factory , based in Hamburg, is a system catering company founded in 2002 in the field of baked goods, cold and warm drinks. Back-Factory is a subsidiary of Harry-Brot , Germany's leading manufacturer of baked goods.
More than 1,500 people are employed at around 100 locations across Germany. In 2017, Back-Factory generated sales of EUR 99.4 million (gross) and is one of the top 15 companies in the quick service catering segment. Back-Factory branches are run both independently and by franchise partners. The largest franchise partner currently operates eight branches.
history
The first Back-Factory branch was opened in Bielefeld in 2002 as a self-service bakery (self-service bakery); the first franchisee Siegmar Rasche was also involved in the development under the direction of Managing Director Peter Gabler. In 2009, the company transformed the classic self-service bakeries into a system catering snack concept. In the course of the repositioning, most of the existing branches were rebuilt and partially enlarged and equipped with coffee stations and larger seating areas. In addition, the range has been further developed from classic baked goods to snacks. In 2017, more than 96 percent of sales were achieved with snacks, coffee and cold drinks. The largest baking factory with an area of 1,000 m² is currently located in Gelsenkirchen.
Products
The core of the range are savory and sweet snacks based on baked goods. In addition, salads, coffee, cold drinks and classic pastries are offered. Over 30 of the products available at Back-Factory have been awarded by the DLG .
Awards
In 2008 Back-Factory was awarded the DFV seal of quality by the German Franchise Association . In 2011, 2014 and 2018 the DFV quality seal was renewed and Back-Factory was also awarded the "F&C Award Gold" by the International Center for Franchising and Cooperation (F&C) for the above-average satisfaction of the franchise partners.
