Bageshwar is a city in the Indian state of Uttarakhand .

The city is located in the Kumaon Himalayas at an altitude of 900  m on the western bank of the Sarju at the confluence of the Gomti . It is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . The national highway NH 309A connects Bageshwar with Almora, 30 km south-southwest, and Pithoragarh, 50 km south-east . The city has the status of a Nagar Palika Parishad . In the 2011 census, the population was 9,079.
