The Bahía Balaresque ( Spanish in Argentina Bahía Chavarría ) is a bay on the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is a side bay of Hidden Bay at the northeast end of the Kiev Peninsula .
Chilean scientists named her after the later Admiral Jorge Oscar Balaresque Buchanan (1911-1998), commander of the ship Iquique on the 4th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1949-1950). The background of the Argentine naming is not deposited.
