The Bahamonde Point ( spanish Punta Teniente Bahamonde ) is a headland on the west coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It marks the western end of the Schmidt Peninsula on the Trinity Peninsula .
The headland was mapped by participants in the Second Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947–1948) and named after Lieutenant Arturo Bahamonde Calderón (1916–2004), an engineer on this expedition. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the Spanish name to English on December 15, 1982.
