The Schmidt Peninsula is a small peninsula in Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is connected to Cape Legoupil on the Trinity Peninsula by a shallow isthmus .
Participants of the 2nd Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947–1948) named them after Hugo Schmidt Prado (* 1913), captain of the Chilean army and first head of the Bernardo O'Higgins station built on this peninsula in 1948 .
