The Ankara Station ( Ankara Garı ) is a station of the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) on Talatpaşa Bulvarı in the capital Ankara .

The first station was opened here by the Anatolian Railway on December 31, 1892. The foundation for today's reception building in the Art Deco style was laid on March 4 1935th The construction work was finished at the beginning of October 1937, so that the station could be inaugurated on October 10th. The new building replaced a previous building from 1892 and formed an urban development measure that was sought after under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk . The architect Şekip Akalın was commissioned with the construction .

In the station complex there is a railway museum in which steam locomotives are shown in an open space. A saloon car of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is parked at the platform. 1 The train station also houses an art gallery. The former residential building of the station master , which Mustafa Kemal Ataturk temporarily served as his headquarters during the Turkish Liberation War and is now also used as a museum for the Turkish Liberation War, has also been preserved. However, this building is not located on the station grounds, but more than 1 km away on Ulus Square, on the outskirts of Ankara at the time.
