The Hötzelsdorf-Geras station is a through station in Hötzelsdorf in the Geras municipality on the Franz-Josefs-Bahn . The station is one of the less frequented stops on the Franz-Josefs-Bahn due to its proximity to Sigmundsherberg station , which has a significantly higher train frequency. The station is served every hour in the morning and in the afternoon / evening, otherwise by two-hour REX trains Vienna Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof - Gmünd NÖ . A few trains pass through the station during rush hour.
history
The station was built in the course of the construction of the Franz-Josefs-Bahn between Eggenburg and Gmünd in the 1860s and opened in 1869. The following year the Eggenburg – Vienna Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof section was completed.
In 1994, as part of the modernization of the Franz-Josefs-Bahn, which included electrification between Sigmundsherberg and Gmünd, the station was rebuilt and equipped with raised platforms.
Investments
The station has a heated waiting room with seating and a public toilet.
The station has two platforms. The island platform can be reached through a level crossing where two tracks have to be crossed. Platform 1 is only used in exceptional cases, most trains stop at platform 2.
In addition to the two platform tracks, there is also a loading / connecting track to the Hötzelsdorf warehouse and a through track right next to the station building .
There is a bus stop at the entrance to the train station, to the east there is a P + R facility with a capacity of 70 parking spaces.

The station is serviced every two hours, with amplifier trains in the morning and afternoon / evening rounding out the offer. This creates an almost hourly cycle in the respective load direction . It is possible to change trains between some trains and the buses of the WA22 and 1304 lines (both Horn - Drosendorf).
