The Mulhouse-Dornach train station ( French Gare de Mulhouse-Dornach , German Mulhouse-Dornach train station ) is the train station in the Dornach district of the Upper Alsatian city of Mulhouse ( Mulhouse ). The station is located at kilometer 105.129 of the Strasbourg-Basel railway and is in addition to the regional trains of the TER Alsace also by Tram-Train Mulhouse-Vallée de la Thur and the line 3 of the Mulhouse tramway approached. His address is Rue Antoine Herzog .

history

The Dornach station was opened on August 15, 1841 by the Compagnie du chemin de fer de Strasbourg à Bâle (StB) with the commissioning of the section from Colmar to Mulhouse of the railway line from Strasbourg to Basel .

From August 15, 1841 to May 31, 1842, up to 12,531 passengers were processed at Dornach station and tickets were sold for a total value of 14,646.80 francs. In addition, a total of CHF 350.80 was paid for luggage and goods.

For the 2010/2011 timetable change on December 12, 2010, the Mulhouse – Vallée de la Thur tram-train, a dual-system regional light rail system based on the Karlsruhe model , went into operation. For this purpose, a four-kilometer-long, partly single-track tram line was built between Lutterbach station and Dornach station, parallel to the railway line from Mulhouse to Colmar , which joins the existing line of tram line 2 and thus the network of the Mulhouse tram at the Stricker roundabout . At the same time as the opening of the tram train between Mulhouse and Thann im Thurtal , the new tram line 3 went into operation, which also uses the tram train route to Lutterbach station.

traffic

Mulhouse-Dornach station is served hourly by TER Alsace regional trains on the Strasbourg - Sélestat - Colmar - Mulhouse (- Basel ) route.

The Mulhouse – Vallée de la Thur tram-train runs every half hour on weekdays and Saturdays, and every hour on Sundays and public holidays. On the Lutterbach – Hauptbahnhof section, tram line 3 condenses the tram train to 15-minute intervals on weekdays, and to 30-minute intervals on Sundays and public holidays.

During rush hour on working days, individual TERs condense the Tram-Train timetable in order to establish connections to other TERs in Mulhouse Ville. These trains run from the long-distance section of the Dornach station (tracks A and B), while the tram-train and line 3 stop at the light rail section of the station (tracks C and D).

Connection

In addition to the TER Alsace regional trains, the Mulhouse – Vallée de la Thur tram train and tram line 3, bus lines 10 ( Incorporation stop ), 17 and 20 ( Dornach Gare stop ) also stop at Dornach station . The Mulhouse Railway Museum is around two kilometers away, and it is a short walk from the nearest tram station, Musées .
