history
Niederwiesa station was opened on May 14, 1866 with the opening of the Chemnitz-Annaberger Bahn . The Chemnitz – Flöha section, on which Niederwiesa was also located, was transferred to this line on March 1, 1869 with the opening of the Dresden – Werdau line. At the same time, the Niederwiesa – Hainichen section of the Roßwein – Niederwiesa railway opened , which was extended in 1874 by the Roßwein – Hainichen section. After 1875 the trains of the Flöhatalbahn also went to Marienberg and Reitzenhain or to Olbernhau and Neuhausen through Niederwiesa. In addition to the station building, the station received an outbuilding, a goods shed, a weighbridge, a loading ramp, a residential building and four signal boxes. In addition to the original station building, a new, significantly larger building was built in the reform style in 1913 . The old reception building, which has hardly changed in terms of structure, is now used as a residential building.
On September 26, 1965, the electrification between Freiberg (Sachs) and Karl-Marx-Stadt Hbf - and thus also at Niederwiesa station - was put into operation on the Dresden – Werdau line.
With the commissioning of the electronic interlocking in 2001, the interlockings W1, W2, B3 and W4 were abandoned and demolished.
