The train station Praha-Smíchov (Czech: Nádraží Praha-Smíchov ) is a long-distance and regional train station west of the Vltava in the Prague district of the same name at the address Nádražní 279/1. Originally it was called Praha západní nádraží (Prague West Railway Station) . The station will be comprehensively renovated from April 2019 to spring 2022.
Location and importance
The station is located south-southwest of the old town on the railway connection towards Pilsen in the industrial district of Smíchov . The railway line towards the main station via the Prague connecting railway crosses the Vltava directly northeast of the station after a 90 ° curve.
Smíchov train station is connected to the Esko Prague network .
The passenger coaches of the Regiojet company are at home at Smíchov station .
Metro station
The Praha-Smíchov station provides a link between the railway lines that run here and the Prague Metro . The Smíchovské Nádraží metro station is located below the station forecourt . Metro line B trains stop here at a central platform. The station was put into operation as the provisional terminus of line B in 1985.
