South Ruislip is a train station and in the London Borough of Hillingdon . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 5 on Long Drive. The station is served on the one hand by the Central Line of London Underground , on the other hand by trains from the Chiltern Railways , which run from London's Marylebone station via High Wycombe to Birmingham . In 2013, 1.71 million passengers used the station, plus 0.143 million passengers on the railroad. There is a waste disposal facility next to the train station, which is supplied by a garbage truck once a day.

In 1906 the Great Western Railway and the Great Central Railway jointly built the Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway (GW & GCJR), a railway line towards High Wycombe . Two years later, the Northolt Junction stop was opened, which was called South Ruislip & Northolt Junction from 1932 and was given its current name in 1942. As part of the New Works Program of the London Passenger Transport Board , decided in 1935, an additional double lane was laid along the GW & GCJR after the end of the Second World War to enable the underground service between North Acton and West Ruislip . The Central Line ran the route from November 21, 1948. In February 2006, the station had to be closed for a short time after the infrastructure company Metronet encountered asbestos during renovation work .
