The Vienna Nussdorf train station is in the 19th Viennese district of Döbling in the district part Nussdorf . This is where the Franz-Josefs-Bahn and the Donauuferbahn meet. Regional trains and S-Bahn trains on the S40 stop here .
history
Nussdorf station was opened on June 23, 1870 at the same time as the Franz-Josefs-Bahn on the Eggenburg – Vienna section went into operation. At that time Nussdorf was still a separate municipality. In 1878 the Donauuferbahn was integrated into the station and in 1889 the Franz-Josefs-Bahn was expanded to double tracks. From 1898 to 1918 the station was also served by the Vienna Stadtbahn . The original reception building was replaced in 1900 by a spacious new building, which included a house platform and a central platform. The exterior of the station building has hardly changed since then. On October 1st, 1978 the Franz-Josefs-Bahn and the Donauuferbahn were electrified.
