The Chaschuri – Wale railway connects the Poti – Baku railway in Georgia with the health resort and seaside resort of Borjomi and also with Wale .
history
The section between Chaschuri and Borjomi went into operation in 1884 and was electrified in 1937 . The second section was the route to Wale in 1947 , which was provided with an overhead line in 1967 . The railway infrastructure and traffic on the line is now operated by the Georgian Railway, Sakartwelos Rkinigsa .
The Chaschuri – Wale railway is 91 kilometers long. It was built in the Russian broad gauge and is electrified with 3000 V direct current throughout .

Passenger traffic on the route only takes place from Chaschuri to Borjomi. There are continuous trains to and from Tbilisi . In Borjomi there is a narrow-gauge railway that continues to Bakuriani .
