The railway line Kinnared – Fegen ( Kinnared – Fegens Järnväg ) was a 11.52 kilometer long standard gauge railway line in Sweden .

history

A concession was granted for the railway line on July 21, 1876 after a request from several interested parties . This described a standard gauge railway line from Kinnared via Fegen and Ullared to Varberg . But since the construction of this line was never started, this concession expired. Later other interested parties, led by the manufacturer Wilhelm Wallberg, applied for a new license. This permit for the construction of the railway, which was granted on January 18, 1884, was taken over by Wilhelm Wallberg on November 27, 1884, who then built the line between Kinnared and Fegen on his own.

The 11.52-kilometer line was opened to general traffic on September 3, 1885. Halmstad – Nässjö Järnvägsaktiebolag (HNJ) took over the management. Rails with a meter weight of 22.5 kg / m were used for the route . The greatest gradient was 16.67 per thousand, the smallest radius of curvature on the main track was 300 meters and it was allowed to travel at a maximum speed of 27 km / h.

On March 29, 1886, the Kinnared – Fegens Järnväg (KFJ) was sold to Halmstad – Nässjö Järnvägar (HNJ) for 360,000 crowns .

As part of the general nationalization of the railway , the HJN and with it this line became state-owned on July 1, 1945, and Statens Järnvägar took over management .

All traffic was stopped on February 1, 1961.
