Ullared is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Hallands län and the historical province (landskap) Halland .
location
The place in the municipality of Falkenberg is about 35 km northeast of Falkenberg and east of Varberg , the provincial roads (Swedish Länsväg ) 153 and 154 intersect in the place. Through the village flows Högvadsån , the largest tributary of the Ätrans .
The district of Heden , which is located somewhat separately at 154 in the direction of Falkenberg, has been run as a separate småort by Statistiska centralbyrån since 2015 .
history
Since the beginning of the 20th century, the two railway lines Falkenberg – Limmared and Varberg – Ätran crossed in Ullared station , which was connected to the Halmstad – Nässjö railway line via Fegen . This connection was very beneficial for the economic development of the community. The place was, among other things, a transshipment point for wood from the region. In 1961 the railway lines were shut down.
economy
With Gekås (Gekås i Ullared AB) is one of the largest and best surface department stores Sweden is in place. Thanks to the success of Gekås , other large markets have opened up there, especially with outlet ranges. The local economy offers around 1300 jobs. There is also a secondary school and a medical center in Ullared. The place has had its own sewage treatment plant since 1972.
Gekås operates one of the largest year-round campsites in Sweden. The reception has been relocated from the campsite near the waste disposal station at the E.ON gas filling station. The older buildings previously located there were demolished in 2013. In order not to have to drive to the campsite through the village, a roundabout was built near the gas filling station, which is followed by a road across the river. There is a ski slope at the campsite.
There is a motel belonging to Gekås in the village . In 2013 a conference hotel was also completed on the corner of Danska Vägen and Länsväg 153. At the Gekås satellite camp in the direction of Gällared there is a hunddagis where customers can drop off dogs while they are shopping.
Attractions
The current church of Ullared has been in a place since 1829 where older churches previously stood. In earlier years the railroad ran directly behind the church. The former railway lines were converted into cycle paths from 2012 to 2014. These run parallel to 153 and 154 towards Skeppshult and Svenljunga, respectively .
South of the village near the road 154 (in the district of Heden) there is a small Richterring (Swedish Domarring ), consisting of eight stones. Richter rings are a characteristic grave shape in southern Sweden. They were built from the pre-Roman to the younger Iron Age (500 BC - 600 AD) and are (only) in tradition as places of execution.
Around Ullared there is the Ekomuseum nedre Ätradalen ("Lower Ätrantal"). This shows a number of historically interesting places in nature. In the surrounding area there are Abilds kyrka (Abilds Church), Axtorna slagfält (battlefield), Bocksten Mosse as well as a UNESCO World Heritage guided Varberg Radio Station .
About 10 kilometers from Ullared is Källsjö. Here you can visit a dairy and buy locally made products.
