The railway line Kralupy nad Vltavou – Neratovice is a single-track main line ("celostátní dráha") in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated by the kk privileged Turnau-Kralup-Prague Railway (TKPE). It runs from Kralupy nad Vltavou along the Jizera to Neratovice .

history

On October 23, 1863, Ernst Graf Waldstein , Hugo Fürst zu Thurn und Taxis , Friedrich Leitenberger, Adalbert Lanna , Franz Cerrini de Monte Marchi, Clemens Bachofen von Echt, Ludwig Weydelin, Friedrich Zdekauer Edler von Treukon, Alexander Schoeller , Johann Liebieg became for J. Liebieg & Comp. and JW Beyer for Jg. F. Kolb " the right to build and operate a locomotive railway from Turnau in the direction via Jungbunzlau to Kralup to connect the south-north German connecting line with the northern state railway and the Buschtěhrad railway ". In addition, the concessionaires were given the privilege to operate a branch line in the direction of Prague. Part of the concession was the condition that construction should begin no later than one year from the granting of the concession and that the route should be completed " and handed over to public transport " no later than three years . The route was opened on October 15, 1865. The Turnau-Kralup-Prague Railway Company ran the business itself.

On October 28, 1871, the Turnau-Kralup-Prague Railway Company also opened the branch line from Neratovice to Prague. This means that the traffic that was previously focused on Kralupy increasingly shifted to and from Prague. The route between Kralupy and Neratovice was now mainly used for freight traffic.

On January 1, 1883, the Turnau-Kralup-Prager Railway Company was acquired by the Bohemian Northern Railway Company . This operated the route from then on with its other lines as a unit.

After the nationalization of the Bohemian Northern Railway Company, the line was transferred to the Imperial and Royal Austrian State Railways in 1908 . After the First World War , the railway came to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) in 1918 .

At the beginning of the 1960s, the route between Kralupy and kilometer 3.5 near Úžice was re-routed, with a new Vltava bridge being built. In 1985 this section was electrified. Electric train operation between Kralupy and the Kaučuk Kralupy works station began on May 31, 1985.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia .

In the 2011 annual timetable, the passenger trains run every two hours, which is increased to an hourly rate during the weekday rush hour traffic in the morning and afternoon. Only the railcars of the ČD series 810 are used .
