The Lagos – Calabar railway is a railway construction project in Nigeria .

The state-owned Chinese China Railway Construction (CRC) intends to build this rail transport route. The route will connect the largest city in the country Lagos , along the coast, with the port city of Calabar . It should be 1402 km long, have 22 train stations with traffic stops and be designed for a maximum speed of 120 km / h. The construction costs are estimated at 12 or 13 billion US dollars . It is the most extensive rail project that China is carrying out abroad, and according to other reports, it is China's largest foreign investment at all. The section between Warri and Port Harcourt is expected to be completed in 2021.
