The Lenartovce – Abovce line is a short connecting line in Slovakia . It connects the Bánréve – Fi –akovo and Bánréve – Dobšiná railway lines , bypassing Hungarian territory at Bánréve . It is part of the southern Slovak railroad from Zvolen to Košice .

history

The history of this connecting arc is related to the collapse of Austria-Hungary and the establishment of Czechoslovakia after the First World War . After the provisional demarcation line established in 1919, the Bánréve – Fiľakovo railway was completely and the Bánréve – Dobšiná railway south of Tornaľa in Hungary, so part of the Czechoslovakian territory around Rožňava was only accessible via the Hungarian railway network. The definitive border line, which was established at the end of 1919, was further south, so that only Bánréve station remained in Hungary. The trains of the Czechoslovak State Railways had to turn in Bánréve from now on and there were also operational restrictions.

To remedy this situation, the Pardubice Railway Regiment began in September 1920 to build a 1.1 km long connecting arch from Lenartovce to Abovce on exclusively Czechoslovakian territory. On December 29, 1920, the new route was opened to traffic. The Bánréve – Abovce line was then abandoned and dismantled.
