history

Michálkovice railway station (2008)

Anselm Salomon von Rothschild , owner of the Witkowitz ironworks , initiated the expansion of the existing Montanbahn Mährisch Ostrau – Michalkowitz to Dombrau . The line, which was put into operation on September 12, 1870, connected Michalkowitz with the Bettina mine in Dombrau and had branches to the Eleonora and Stará strojová mine in Orlau. In Dombrau there was also a connection to the network of the kk priv. Kaschau-Oderberger Bahn . In 1886 the line was bought by the kk priv. Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB).

Today the route is part of the Advanced World Transport (AWT) network.
