The local railway Plan – Tachau (Czech. Místní dráha Planá – Tachov ) was a private local railway company in today's Czech Republic . The route leads from Planá u Mariánských Lázní ( Plan ) to Tachov ( Tachau ) in western Bohemia . The seat of the company was in Tachau.

history

On July 25th, 1893, “Mayor Heinrich Swoboda received in the name of the municipality of Tachau in association with the district chairman Dr. Josef Böttger , on behalf of the local regional representation ”, was granted the concession “ to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from a point on the Pilsen-Eger state railway between the stations Josefihütte and Plan-Tachau via Lohm, Buhlöding and Wittingreith to Tachau ” . The company's share capital totaled 217,000 crowns .

The line was opened on January 16, 1895. The company carried out the operation itself.

On April 28, 1913, the company was converted into a limited liability company (GmbH).

In 1935 the local railway company Schweißing – Haid became the property of the ČSD.

After the Sudetenland was annexed to Germany in autumn 1938, the line came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Breslau . The connection was now included in the Reich curriculum as KBS 422k Schweißing – Haid . This was accompanied by the final nationalization and dissolution of the Welding – Haid local railway. The law of August 2, 1940 "concerning the takeover of railways in the Reichsgau Sudetenland and in the parts of the southern German territories incorporated into the Reichsgaue Oberdonau and Niederdonau" regulated a. a. the nationalization of nine local railways with a total length of 169.77 km, in which the Czechoslovak state had already held the majority of the shares.

In the 2018 timetable, České dráhy operates the route every hour on weekdays with passenger trains, some of which are connected via Tachov to Domažlice . Series 810 and 814 diesel railcars are used.

Locomotives

The kkStB acquired two class 97 locomotives on behalf of the local railway company Schweißing – Haid . The locomotives had the road numbers 97.76 and 97.77.
