The Zlaté Moravce – Kozárovce railway is a branch line in Slovakia .
history
A local railway from Kozárovce to Zlaté Moravce was built in the Kingdom of Hungary and opened on December 12, 1912.
This railway line was of great importance during the time of the First Slovak Republic , as it was the only direct connection between the capital Bratislava, the regional capital Nitra and central Slovakia. The more efficient railways Bratislava – Nové Zámky (–Budapest) and Nové Zámky to Levice were on Hungarian territory from 1938 to 1945 as a result of the First Vienna Arbitration .
On February 2, 2003, passenger traffic was stopped. Freight traffic is still taking place.
