Balázs Bábel (born October 18, 1950 in Gyón ) is a Hungarian Roman Catholic clergyman and archbishop of Kalocsa-Kecskemét .

Life

Balázs Bábel received on 19 June 1976, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop for the Archdiocese of Kalocsa-Kecskemét on February 24, 1999 . The Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest , Cardinal László Paskai , donated him episcopal ordination on April 28, 1999 . Co -consecrators were Archbishop László Dankó of Kalocsa-Kecskemét and Bishop Ferenc Keszthelyi of Vác .

With the death of Archbishop Dankós on June 25, 1999 Balázs Bábel succeeded him as Archbishop of Kalocsa-Kecskemét.
