The Bald Head ( English for bald head ) is an ice-free and about 150 m high headland in the north of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 13 km southwest of the View Point and 3 km south of Jade Point as the southeastern extension of the Yatrus Promontory on the south coast of the Trinity Peninsula . Eagle Island is opposite to the east .
It was discovered by a group led by Johan Gunnar Andersson during the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld . The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey named the headland descriptively in the course of a geodetic survey in 1945.
