Baldur Heckel

Baldur Heckel (born March 6, 1941 in Graz ; † May 12, 2010 ) was an Austrian technician and long-time chairman of the Styrian Singers Association.

Live and act

Heckel completed a degree in mechanical engineering at the Graz University of Technology and then held managerial positions at Steyr Daimler Puch in Graz. He played a leading role in the development of the Eurostar plant, which Magna Steyr took over, and in the creation of the Autocluster Steiermark . From 1997 Heckel was entrusted with a teaching position at the Joanneum University of Applied Sciences .

Since 1991 he has been chairman of the Styrian Singers' Association; In this function he introduced the "Styrian Singers and Musicians Meetings", which became the most important and best-attended folk music events in Styria .
